Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H)
 

The Ministry of Tourism Malaysia imposed the policy for applicants that require all MM2H applications are to be submitted only through a licensed MM2H sponsor/agent and no individual application or third party applications will be entertained.

Incentives and benefits of the MM2H programme

Participants of MM2H are provided with various incentives to make their stay even more comfortable and enjoyable in Malaysia

  • With this visa pass, the participant will be allowed to travel in and out of Malaysia at any time they wish.
  • The participant will also have the choice to stay or not to stay in Malaysia, even at the beginning period.
  • It is possible for applicants to be shareholders in companies formed in Malaysia.
  • Each participant is allowed to purchase residential houses at price above RM250,000, (but above RM300,000 per unit for certain areas in the state of Sarawak).
  • Each participant is allowed to bring in his/her own personal car OR to purchase a locally-assembled car without the need to pay import duty, excise duty and sales tax.
  • Each applicant is allowed to apply for one maid subject to the prevailing guidelines of the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
  • Applicants are allowed to bring their children who under 18 years old and not married as their dependants under this programme.
  • Tax exemption is given to pension remitted into Malaysia but participants are required to obtain the endorsement from the Authorities in their country of origin as to the total amount of yearly pension received.

Eligibility

The programme is open to citizens of all countries recognised by Malaysia regardless of race, religion, gender or age. Applicants are allowed to bring their spouses and unmarried children below the age of 18 as dependants.

However, foreigners who are married to Malaysians are not eligible for the MM2H programme. They may apply to stay in Malaysia under the Immigration Department's "Spouse Programme" with a Long Term Social Visit Pass.

How to apply for the MM2H programme?

The following is a list for the Application Procedure & Documents Required for applying for the MM2H programme:

Application

To apply for the MM2H programme, you will need to provide us with:

  • Five (5) pieces of passport size photograph for each applicant.
  • Photocopy all pages of Current Passport for each applicant.
  • Proof to be shown of Monthly Offshore Income of not less than RM10,000.
  • Latest three (3) months Personal Bank Statements with a current balance of above RM350,000 (for those aged ABOVE 50 years).
  • Latest three (3) months Personal Bank Statements with a current balance of above RM 500,000 (for those aged BELOW 50 years).
  • Letter of application (cover letter explaining the reason for selecting Malaysia as your Second Home) signed by the applicant.
  • Proof of documents for Property Purchase in Malaysia (if any).
  • A copy of marriage certificate (if applying with spouse).
  • A copy of the children’s birth certificate (if applying with children).

Note:

    • All the abovementioned photocopy of documents will have to be translated into English and certified by the Notary Public or Commissioner of Oaths in your country and courier to us.
    • We recommend the use DHL Courier Service for reliability.
    • It is not necessary for the applicant to be present in Malaysia during the application process.
    • Only with the complete set of the abovementioned documents, we will be able to submit to the Immigration department for certification and approval.

Upon Approval

After obtaining the approval, you will need to proceed with the following :-

  • You will have to be present in Malaysia ( to make a trip down to Malaysia ).
  • You will need to open a fixed deposit account ( in Malaysia ) for the sum of, either  RM 150,000.00 for applicant age ABOVE 50 years, or for the sum of RM 300,000.00 for applicant age BELOW 50 years.
  • Purchase medical insurance with any of the local insurance company.
  • Go for a medical check-up in any of the local clinics or hospital.

Thereafter, you will obtain an Immigration visa endorsement - Malaysia My Second Home program ( MM2H ) - sticker that will be affixed into your passport.
